Dr Smirnova obtained primary medical degree overseas and after successful completion of AMC examination became fully registered medical professional in Australia in 2001.
Dr Smirnova completed specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and became a Fellow of Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrician and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) in 2010. While undergoing specialty training at RPA Hospital Dr Smirnova obtained Master of Medicine degree in Reproductive Health and Human Genetics at the University of Sydney.
Dr Smirnova is a Head of Gynaecology Department at RPAH Women&Babies.
Dr Smirnova involved in teaching and supervision of junior doctors including specialty trainees. She is a RANZCOG training supervisor.
Dr Smirnova is a member of Australian Gynaecological Endoscopy & Surgery Society (AGES) as well as the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL).
Her major interests are in advanced laparoscopic surgery including endometriosis as well as management of complex pelvic pathology and pelvic floor disorders.
Dr Smirnova involved in training and teaching of Advanced Pelvic Surgery Fellows at RPA.
Dr Smirnova has many years of experience in complex high risk obstetrics and offer private obstetric care at RPA, Mater and POWP hospitals.
